Cutlery

Cutlery is another one that very basic and important tool in the kitchen , without it we cannot prepare our meals because we need it for cutting vegetable ,slicing any kind of meat , peeling fruits or vegetables , dicing and carving or anything you want to cut need a cutlery . There are many types of cutlery depending on what and how we want to cut, but for a very basic kitchen , we should have at least four types of knives which are chef’s knife , Slicer , Utility Knife and Paring knife . It is also good to have other knife depending on your need such as ‘ boning knife’, steak knife , Santoku Knife and few more specialty knives .

  • CHEF‘S KNIFE.

    This is the most important knife in the kitchen because the most we do in the kitchen for preparing food are consist of cutting , slicing or dicing . This knife is usually 8 inches long but ranging from 6 inches to 12 inches for some chef's knife . A sharp Chef knife is safer ,because we do not need to use a lot of pressure to do the job .A good quality of chef’s knife stays sharp much longer and easier to re sharpen .





  • VEGETABLE PEELER

    Vegetable peeler is also part of cutlery that we need in the kitchen because we use it for peeling vegetables and fruits. Using knife for peeling is difficult and uneven , but by using peeler will make it very simple , fast and smooth like a professional chef . Using knife also quite dangerous if not careful . Normally I use the peeler for carrots, potatoes and fruits like mangoes or apples. You may need a little practice to get use of how to handle the peeler to make it perfectly done if you never use it before.

  • UTILITY KNIFE

    Utility knife is another basic and important type of knife that we should have in the kitchen . This knife is smaller size than the chef's knives but we can use interchangeable with chef's knives for cutting , slicing fruits and vegetables .It is about 4 to 6 inches long .





  • SHARPENER

    Sharpener should be available anytime in the kitchen because we may need it anytime just in case your knives doesn’t work well . Good quality of cutlery may not need to sharpen regularly , but normally we still need to sharpen it once in a while . They are few types of sharpener from stone to steel . Choose with your preference but for me I just need a stone . They are also a electrical sharpener available .
